Hotel Jansen was founded by a tight-knit family who understood that we all don’t just crave connection, it’s the sense of family that keeps us grounded. That’s why they intentionally created an hotel that offers warmth, stability, and genuine connection for those chasing unforgettable experiences, yet still need to feel seen, supported, and safe. All wrapped in a bold tribute to the notorious City of Amsterdam we all know and love!
How we work
Our Family First approach
Our Family First approach is rooted in human connection. We don’t have guests and staff, we have family members. Including that odd bossy aunt, loud annoying nephew, a too-sexy-for-her-own-good niece, and even that slightly inappropriate uncle. We help out with parties ánd problems, with romances ánd regrets; as a family we keep the vibe tight, and makes sure nobody’s slipping through the cracks. We bring empathy, presence, and, when necessary, professional care.

Raumkultur’s origins from the festival world, the makers have the habit of working mainly with recycled and special materials. Due to the amount of special materials used in the hotel and the interior, Hotel Jansen is a place with a very low footprint.
Fiction Factory, an Amsterdam based sustainable construction studio spent over two years carefully working on the interior of Hotel Jansen Bajeskwartier. They combined their knowledge and creativity to create a fully custom interior that meets our mutual circular ambitions.
