Amazing things happen when we come together; strangers turn into friends and friends turn into family. That’s why we host events, performances, workshops and exhibitions at Café Jansen. Exchange words, thoughts, creativity and life lessons while eating, drinking, and having fun! Our spaces shift from atelier to co-working hub, from pre-party to come-down café. Locals, staff, and guests – from DJs and artists to designers and dancers – open your mind to Amsterdam’s boundary-pushing nightlife and daytime culture. We support community-led gatherings created by and for our floor residents, guests, and local neighbors. You’re welcome to invite people from other floors or nearby apartments to join as well. Think of theme nights like ‘Roots & Riot Dinners,’ where guests cook a dish from their home country or childhood, or an art-expression evening, where people create together and add new pieces to our walls. Tucked away in our backyard lies Levenslang, an industrial nighttime hideout in the old prison’s former boiler room. Each May – the month of renewal – Hotel Jansen brings back its notorious Amsterdam Renaissance Party, open to anyone seeking an unforgettable night out.
